Introduction

We are will and Alfie and we are doing our preliminary task of creating a short film where someone comes through a door and has a conversation with someone else. The clip must include 180-degree rule, dialogue, match on action and shot reverse shot.

We have chosen to do a crime and action genre for our preliminary task because we are both interested in this genre and have made an attempt to re-create a set piece of the genre. We have gained inspiration from films such as Hitman and the John Wick series, these are more tension based films. They tend to keep the audience engaged and therefore leads to an interesting story and successful film.

We hope to gain some knowledge and experience on techniques of cinematography used to create a certain genre of film. Through using certain camera shots we have learned that the way the shot is organised can have an effect on how the scene looks. For example, low angle and high angle shots can give a big indication on someone's power that they hold.
